Walking Around in the World (Page 2)

Posted by Nicole on April 15, 2009

walking-around-in-the-world-page-2The birthing scene is one of my favorite things I’ve drawn. I don’t know why. Everything just came out funny. I won’t say no pun intended because that would be lame. I think I was reading Guy Delisle’s Chroniques Birmanes when I started this. (Yeah, I read the English translation – Burma Chronicles.) I loved the innocence of his style. But I was turned off by how much he wrote about his baby and family…that is until I read Aline and Others and realized he’s just another weirdo comic book artist after all. In a good way of course.

Walking Around in the World (Page 1)

Posted by Nicole on April 14, 2009

walking-around-in-the-world-page-1At the request of my fans sister and friend Alan, I’m postingĀ  more from Walking Around in the World. Here’s page one for now. My friend Tim told me that it’s hard to tell what’s going on in the story, after which I fell into a deep depression. Not really, butĀ  I did draw a nasty comic of him being a band dude cum critic. So if it doesn’t make too much sense, it’s because each page sadly took a day to finish & the flow always gets messed up when I don’t do it real fast.

Excerpt from “Walking Around in the World.”

Posted by Nicole on April 8, 2009

excerptOk, so in the absense of being creative enough to come up with new material, I’m posting an excerpt from my graphic novel (Walking Around in the World) that I’ll never complete. Here’s a snapshot of my sister & I’s childhood – I inked this one today (so I know my sis hasn’t seen this one) to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We had an interesting (euphamism!!!) childhood. p.s. I already know my drawing skills are sub par, so don’t hurt my feelings by telling me so, will ya. Thanks.
